01) A hard disk for a Miditemp Multistation MSX must be formatted directly on the MSX. When you formatted a hard disk for MSX FIRST on an Linux- or Windows-Operating-System (PC/Laptop) and insert the hard disk after it into the MSX, the MSX doesn't identified the hard drive.

02) The steps to format a hard disk on the Multistation:
- Insert the hard drive into the MSX
- Boot the MSX
- When the display shows the "Main-Window" (= Player, Midi, Mixer, Synthesis, Drives, Lyrics, Effects, ...), click in the display on DRIVES
- Then click in the display on FUNC (you find it in the display at the bottom right).
- Then click in the display (in the pop-up-menu) on DISC
- And then click in the next pop-up-menu on FORMAT NEW DISK (quikly formating).

Now the MSX should formating the hard disk.
